দিতে পারে। আমরা দেখি, গৌতম বুদ্ধের
শিক্ষা মানুষকে নিজের চিত্তের
নিয়ন্ত্রণের মাধ্যমে ধীরে ধীরে
নির্বানের পথে নিজেকে নিয়ে যেতে
শেখায়। বুদ্ধ বলেছেন, আমার শিক্ষা
জ্ঞাণীদের জন্যে। তুমি যদি নিজের মন
দ্বারা বিভ্রান্ত না হয়ে সেগুলো
সঠিকভাবে পড়তে জানো তবে তুমি এই
মহাবিশ্বের প্রকৃত শিক্ষা পাবে।

সমস্ত কিছুর বিজ্ঞানভিত্তিক ব্যাখ্যাকে
ধারন করে থাকবে। তাঁর এই কথার পেছনে
মূল কারন হলো বৌদ্ধ ধর্মই একমাত্র
চিত্তের নিয়ন্ত্রন, নিজেকে নিয়ন্ত্রণ বা
জয় করা, ঈশ্বর কেন্দ্রীক ধর্মীয় বোধকে
এড়িয়ে যাওয়া, শুধু নিজে কিংবা মানুষ নয়
বরং সকল প্রাণীর প্রতি মমত্ববোধ, এবং
সর্বশেষ মানুষকে যে কোন কিছুই
অভিজ্ঞতার মাধ্যমে উপলব্ধি, শেখা ও
ধারন করা –এ শিক্ষা গুলোর উপরে ভিত্তি
করে দাড়িয়ে রয়েছে। আর একারনেই
আইনস্টাইন বলেছেন, “ভবিষ্যতের একটি
কসমিক রিলিজিয়নে যেমন হওয়া দরকার
বৌদ্ধ ধর্মের সেই সকল বৈশিষ্ট্য
রয়েছেঃ এটি “ব্যক্তি ঈশ্বর” ধারনাকে
ব্যবহার করে, অন্যের চাপিয়ে দেওয়া
কোন “অবিতর্কযোগ্য”ও ঈশ্বর কেন্দ্রীক
ধর্মীয় বিশ্বাসকে অগ্রাহ্য করে। বৌদ্ধ ধর্ম

“সব্বে সত্ত্বা সুখীতা হোন্তু” অর্থাৎ
জগতের সকল প্রাণী সুখী হোক। এ
পৃথিবীর সকল জীবের প্রতি অহিংসা
প্রদর্শণ এবং সকল প্রাণীর সুখ কামনা বা
মৈত্রী কামনা পৃথিবীর অন্য কোন ধর্মেই
শিক্ষা দেয়না। এই পৃথিবীর সকল প্রাণীই
এক একটি অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ। আর এই
সর্বজীবের প্রতি দয়া এবং সকল প্রাণীর
প্রতি মৈত্রী প্রদর্শণ মানেই নিজেকে
ছাড়িয়ে গিয়ে, আত্মকেন্দ্রীকতা কে
বিসর্জন দিয়ে সমগ্র পৃথিবীর প্রতি
অপ্রমত্ততা প্রদর্শণ। এভাবেই শুরু হয় মানুষের
নিজেকে ধীরে ধীরে চিত্তকে
পরিশীলতার প্রক্রিয়া।
আইনস্টাইনও ঠিক একই কথা বলেছেন, “একজন
মানুষ “ইউনিভার্স” নামে পরিচিত
“সামগ্রীকতা”র অংশ যা কাল এবং স্থানের
মাঝেই সীমাবদ্ধ। মানুষ নিজেই নিজের
কাছ থেকে অভিজ্ঞতা নেয়; তার চিন্তা
এবং অনুভূতি অন্য সবকিছুর চাইতে আলাদা
কিছু – যা তার সচেতনতার এক ধরনের
দর্শনযোগ্য নিজের মত করে গড়ে তোলা
ছায়াপরিবেশ। নিজেদের তৈরী এই ছায়া
পরিবেশ আমাদের জন্যে একটি
কারাগারের যা আমাদেরকে নিজেদের
চাহিদা আর আশেপাশের কিছু মানুষের
জন্যে আবেগ এর মধ্যেই সীমাবদ্ধ করে
দেয়। আমাদের কাজ হওয়া উচিৎ এই ছোট্ট
কারাগার থেকে নিজেদের মুক্ত করে
পৃথিবীর সকল প্রাণী এবং সমগ্র প্রকৃতির
জন্যে আমাদের আবেগ এবং
ভালোবাসাকে ছড়িয়ে দেওয়া। কেউই এ
কাজটি সম্পূর্ণরূপে করতে পারেননা তবে
এটার জন্যে সর্বদা সচেষ্ট থাকাও মুক্তির
পথে অনেকটাই এগিয়ে যাওয়া যা
আমাদের চিত্তের ভেতরের নিরাপত্তার
ভিত্তি হিসেবে কাজ করে”।

লক্ষ্য করলে দেখা যায় আইনস্টাইন
বলেছেন, “বৌদ্ধ ধর্ম প্রাকৃতিক এবং
আত্মিক দুই ক্ষেত্রেই অভিজ্ঞতালব্ধ
জ্ঞান থেকে তৈরী ধর্মীয় অনুভূতির
উপরে ভিত্তি করে গড়ে উঠেছে” (১)।
অর্থাৎ সকল প্রাণীর প্রতি মৈত্রী প্রদর্শন
হচ্ছে সমগ্র প্রকৃতিকে ভালোবাসারই একটি
নামান্তর অন্যদিকে ধ্যাণ এবং বুদ্ধের
নীতি অনুশীলনের মাধ্যমে নিজেকে বা
নিজের চিত্তকে জয় করা, অজ্ঞানতাকে
দূর করে নিজের মাঝে লুকায়িত পরম জ্ঞান
বিশালতাকে আবিষ্কার করা হচ্ছে আত্মিক
ক্ষেত্র।
লক্ষ্য করুন, বৌদ্ধ ধর্মের সকল শিক্ষা এই দুটি
ক্ষেত্রের উপরেই সর্বোচ্চ জোর দেয়
এবং এই শিক্ষা অনুসরণ থেকেই অর্জিত
হতে পারে পরম জ্ঞান এবং পরম মুক্তি –
নির্বাণ।
আইনস্টাইনের এই ছায়া পরিবেশের
কারাগার মানেই বৌদ্ধ ধর্মের সেই
অজ্ঞানতা এবং দুঃখের শৃংখল। যে
শৃংখলের আবরণে আমরা পরম জ্ঞাণ, শান্তি
এবং মুক্তি কোন কিছুই দেখতে পাই না।
আমরা আমদের আশে পাশের বস্তুগত জীবন
নিয়েই নিজেদের এতটাই ছোট
কারাগারের মধ্যে আবদ্ধ করে ফেলেছি
যে এর বাইরে “নির্বাণ”-এর মাধ্যমে
নিজেকে “মুক্ত” করা এবং এই মুক্তিই যে
আসল সুখ তা উপলব্ধি করতে পারি না।
বুদ্ধ বলেছেন, তুমি শুনেছো বলেই কোন
কিছু বিশ্বাস করো না, কোন কিছু বলা
হয়েছে বা সবাই বলছে বলেই তুমি তা
বিশ্বাস করো না, ধর্মীয় বইতে লেখা
আছে বলেই তুমি তা বিশ্বাস করো না,
তোমার গুরু কিংবা শিক্ষক বলেছেন বলেই
তুমি তা বিশ্বাস করো না, প্রজম্ন থেকে
প্রজন্ম কোন কিছু চলে আসছে বলেই তুমি
তা বিশ্বাস করো না। নিজের পর্যবেক্ষন,
অভিজ্ঞতা এবং বিশ্লেষন এর পর যদি তুমি
দেখো তা যুক্তিযুক্ত এবং সকলের জন্যে
কল্যাণকর তখন কেবল তুমি তা গ্রহণ করো
এবং তা ধরে রাখো। ঠিক এই কথাগুলোই
আইনস্টাইন বলেছেন এভাবেন “বুদ্ধ ধর্ম
অভিজ্ঞতা কেন্দ্রীক একটি ধর্ম”।
এই পরম জ্ঞানোপলব্ধির পথ নিজেকে
অজ্ঞানতার শৃংখল থেকে মুক্ত করা যে
অজ্ঞানতার শৃংখলকে আইনস্টাইন “ছায়া
পরিবেশের কারাগার”-এ মানুষের বসবাস
বলে অভিহিতি করেছেন। এই অজ্ঞানতার
মাঝে যার বসবাস সে প্রকৃত সুখ কি তা
কখনোই উপলব্ধি করতে পারে না। আর তাই
তার প্রকৃত মানুষ হিসেবে গড়ে ওঠা হয়না।
ফলে সেই পরম মুক্তি “নির্বাণ”ও মেলে
না।
আর একারনেই আইনস্টাইন তাঁর একটি
বক্তব্যে বলেছেন, “মানুষের সত্যিকারের
মূল্য নির্ভর করে তার আত্মিক “মুক্তি”র
ধারনা এবং তা অর্জনের উপরে”।
অনেকেই ধারণা করেন, মনে প্রাণে
আইনস্টাইন একজন বৌদ্ধ ছিলেন। তবে
তিনি বৌদ্ধ হন আর না হন তাঁর ধারনা যে
বৃথা নয় তার প্রমাণ আমরা বৌদ্ধরাই যারা
প্রকৃতই বৌদ্ধ ধর্ম অনুশীলন করি এবং যারা
আজকের যুগেও মুক্তির উচ্চ থেকে উচ্চতর
স্তরে আরোহন করছেন। আর এ পৃথিবীর
সমস্ত যৌক্তিকতার ব্যাখ্যা যে বৌদ্ধ
ধর্মের মাঝেই রয়েছে তার পরিপূর্ণ প্রকাশ
হয়ত এতোদিনে হয়েই যেতো যদি না
পৃথিবীর শাসন ব্যবস্থা অন্য ধর্মগুলোর
জোরপূর্বক আগ্রাসন দ্বারা নির্ধারিত
হতো।
